Why We Built This
Somos exists because Rachel and Steve-o can’t work for other people. That’s just the truth. They’re both wired the same way: detail oriented, a little picky, and genuinely invested in how things feel. Both went through periods of being a little lost. And somewhere in that, they started channeling energy into making homes that feel safe and good for people. Homes they’d actually want to stay in themselves. That’s where this business came from.
What We Kept Seeing
This industry has a neglect problem. Not bad intentions, just volume. Owners plugged in and moved past.
Short-term rentals need a lot working at once: design, cleaning, maintenance, communication, pricing. When one slips, the rest follows. Reviews drop, visibility drops, income drops, and owners are often left not knowing why.
We’re Short Term Rental doctors. We find what’s broken and fix it, whether that’s cleaning, setup, or an owner who’s burned out.
We fix what’s not working, improve what’s just okay, and build new properties right from day one.
What Somos Means
Somos means “we are” in Spanish. The name comes from a loop we keep coming back to. We build experiences we’d want for ourselves, and we give that to guests, and it comes back around. Your experience as a guest matters as much as our own. Your property matters as much as if it were ours. That’s the standard we hold everything to.
Where We’re Headed
We want a collection of properties that sit at the top of every market we’re in. Not a lot of average houses. A smaller number of really exceptional ones. Places that feel unique, that are designed well, that offer something nothing else in the area offers. That’s what we’re building toward.
